If this place feels too touristy, head out to Bryant Park’s Bank of America Winter Village that is less crowded.
Enjoy Views of the City from the Empire State Building
Scenes from movies such as “An Affair to Remember” and “Sleepless in Seattle” were shot right here at the Empire State Building. Take a ride to the observatory deck on the 86th floor from where you and your date can enjoy spectacular views of New York City. You can also catch a live jazz performance every weekend after 10 p.m. on the observatory deck.

With its cozy interior and waxed candles on tables, Peasant restaurant is a perfect place to go on a dinner date. This underground cellar focuses on Italian cuisine and everything you eat here is prepared in a wood-fired oven. Chef and owner, Frank De Carlo makes the best brick-oven-baked rabbit and his Lasagna di coniglio is delicious. Peasant also offers an extensive wine list and takes reservations online and via phone.
Go to the River Café for fabulous East River Views
When we think of best date ideas in NYC, the first place that comes to mind is the beautiful River Café that is located under the Brooklyn Bridge and offers amazing views of Manhattan lights and the East River. The service is attentive and they have a nice selection of cocktails available. If you decide to eat dinner, River Café offers a classic New American menu and includes dishes such as niman ranch strip steak, sea scallop and pork belly, and wild shrimp. For dessert, I would recommend splitting a pistachio semifreddo or chocolate Brooklyn bridge.
