Paris, the capital of France, often referred to as the ‘city of light’ or popularly called the ‘city of love’ is a destination that should be on every tourist’s bucket list. Paris is one of the most magical cities in the world; it is also a huge tourist destination, so it’s quite easy to get cheap travel deals through travel agencies near you.
When you are in Paris, skipping the main attractions like a native is unreasonable. The Eiffel Tower should be one of the first places on your to visit list, though the lines at peak seasons are usually insanely long booking online saves you the hassles. For a small fee, the elevator can be ridden to the top where you can get a spectacular view of all of Paris. It is suggested that you visit the tower at night because, at that time, it is all lighted up. These lights make it an attractive golden color instead of its dark brown shade.
Paris boasts of a very impressive display of art, classical and modern. Paris houses the world’s most visited museum – Musée du Louvre which attracts millions of visitors yearly. It has a plethora of collections and holds some of the world’s most famous original works like Da Vinci’s’ Mona Lisa from the Italian Renaissance.
Paris is also home to fine dining and haute cuisine, but for the tourist who wants a taste of the street, I would recommend you try a Baguette, Croque-monsieur or a duck confit.
Night life in Paris is also wonderful. It’s not for nothing; it was called the city of light. It’s the only city you will find lit up almost every hour of the night. Once sun sets, even the Eiffel Tower starts twinkling, with its sparkling LED lights, at the top of each hour. There’s a champagne bar up at the top of the Tour Eiffel. Paris’s best night time places are mostly hidden behind austere façades or tucked into the courtyards and anterooms of flashy establishments. It’s worth seeking them out as you will find that feeling of being a bonafide Parisian, even if it is just for a night.
